Logan's First Birthday

Yeah....it's been a little while since I have posted a blog. Last year a little while would be a couple of months...this year a little while is anything over a week! And the busy time of the year is right around the corner...literally...I started working weekends next weekend! Ahhhh!

Anyways, I finally got around to sorting through the photos on my laptop and dumping new photos onto the laptop from the camera. I thought I would start with Logan's first Birthday extravaganza. I have to say that this birthday was 50% Logan being born, 49.5% Renae putting this ideas together and 0.5% me helping the night before and the morning of the party.

Here you go:
Sorry about the picture being washed out...but this was the dining room.

MMMMM Vanilla Bean cake with chocolate and peanut butter icing :)

Another shot of the dining room.

Renae threw down a nice little bubble/block letter sign for Logan.

Little Man was unsuspecting of his birthday party.

Before we knew it things were underway and friends were showing up.

Logan was all eyes on the cake when we started singing for him.

He was definitely a little hesitant with the cake...he at first poked the monkey's eye...and then had to get some help from mom and dad.

After her realized it was ok...and full of sugar...he went to town.

He ate so much that he actually stopped...that is right he willfully stopped....eating and went into a food coma.

The larger, matching, cake.

This about sums it up for the day...it was a whirlwind of events....and that is how I felt most of the time...

Even though we asked for no gifts, Logan was spoiled anyways :)
He had fun opening up all the gifts.

He even enjoyed getting "into" the gifts.

And one of his favorite gifts was the red wagon from Mom-Mom and Grandpa...here he is pushing and pulling his cousin Emmy :)
All in all the day was fun. It went by very quickly, so fast that I could have sworn that the clock jumped from 6:15 am to 8:30 pm in a matter of minutes. We had fun. The family had fun. Logan had fun.

I wish I had a picture of this memory I am thinking about right now. Logan was being passed around from family to friends most of the time and I was mingling with friends and family and being my social self. But when I finally had Logan he was out of it. He was hungry and tired. I was feeding him a mixture of pasta noodles and crackers when my dad told me he looked like he might be sleeping. I looked down and laughed when I realized that Logan had been munching on a cracker and fell asleep on my chest in mid-bite. When I woke him up to change him and put him in his bed time clothes he abruptly starting chewing the piece that was in his mouth. It was a great day for him, and you know it's good when you pass out while eating food!!!
