Absolutely Awesome Apps...Pt 2

OK, so I did not get my blog updated as early as I would have liked to...but I still have plenty of time left in the day. Today's apps that I am featuring are gaming apps. I finally just stumbled into the worlds of Temple Run and Scramble with Friends...and yes I am addicted. Any word games especially because I love a little linguistical challenge (yes...linguistical is not a real word, but it should be).

Check 'em out...they're fun to play!

Temple Run

Temple Run  reminds me of Indiana Jones for some reason.

Here is the background; there is a man and he is being chased by demon monkeys. You do not want to get caught by the monkeys...or fall off the edge.

As you run through the maze, faster and faster as time goes by, you want to collect the coins.

The more coins = more cool stuff you can do.
The more cool stuff you can do, like be invicible, multiple coin value, get a head start, or have a set of resurrection wings...the easier it becomes to get points and go further.

Then the games becomes a competition with yourself to always oust your score.

At first I thought the game sounded...whatever...and yeah after one or two plays I was hooked.

Words with Friends

The ever-so popular scrabble like game that everyone is playing.

The beauty of this is that it is connected to facebook, so you can play people online as well...no iPhone necessary!

Find someone and start a game!

Rules are similar. There are Double and Triple letter spaces as well as Double and Triple words spaces.

Be warned though, that when you start multiple games it is easy to just keep playing people over and over and over and over...it becomes a little competitive when you play with your friends.

One sad thing...there is a way to cheat in this game. there is a website that will check your tiles and give you word options...boo to people that do that!

Scramble with Friends

This game has a very similar feel to Words with Friends and it basically three rounds of Boggle with bonus items that can be used in each round.

You simply pair up with someone else that can play, and you go head to head for three Rounds.

Round 1 - Classic
Round 2 - has double pts in it
Round 3 - throws in the triple pointer letters

Each round allows you to choose two power ups...I usually go for Freeze (stop time) and Inspiration (shows words if you're stuck).

After each round it compares your scores...all until the final round when a winner is declared.

Seriously...the most addicting game that I play right now!!! I'm playing it while I blog!!!
