Pinterest??? O, Yes!!!

I am not gonna lie, I wrote pinterest.com off from the moment I first kinda heard about it. My wife was making all these little knick knack things and decorating our house with some new styles, and I had no idea what had gotten into her...but all I kept hearing from her was, "I found it on pinterest." or "so-and-so pinned it on their wall." At the same time some other women that I work with and one that I volunteer with kept talking about pinning and all this other stuff. I thought that pinterest was just for women...plain and simple...it's crafts, and make-up, and cute furry animals...nothing manly about it.

I do have to admit that after talking to a friend of mine who works with with his manly bare hands (and owns his own masonry company) I started getting curious. He told me that he saw some pretty cool landscape photos that were giving him ideas, and even saw some sweet photos for possible jobs that he could do in the future.

So with my Christmas break, I took on afternoon to scope it out. Unfortunately, you have to be invited to pinterest.com by someone with an account already. The other negative thing, which didn't effect me, was that you need to have either a Facebook or twitter account to use the site.

Anyways, Renae invited me and I began to peek around. I actually was really impressed. I love food...and guess what? There were tons of awesome ideas for food. Especially because we like to entertain, there were tons of little ideas to that Renae and I would love to do for meals and desserts. Then I decided to search through some photography since it is a passion of mine, and came across some really awesome photos. It also helped give me ideas for things that I could do for myself and for friends.

That was enough for one day though...

But the next day I was back to pinning, and even downloaded the app for the iPhone. This time though, I wondered if I could find some projects to do around the house...you know the do-it-yourself (DIY) kind of projects. I'm glad I did because now I know what to do with the left-over tile sitting in our shed. Now I know what kind of coffee table I am going to make for our living room. Now, I know where we are going to get our end tables for the couches. The possibilities are endless.

More food, DIY projects, wall art, and one of my favorites...lol...a baby with a mustache!

I'm talking cocunt mocho iced coffees, tile projects, photo frames, and much more...

 Ana White Home Maker

I do want to end with giving this Do-It-Yourselfer from Alaska. I stumbled on her website/blog (http://ana-white.com/) - I highly recommend checking out her site)) through pinterest because of a desk that she built that is almost exactly what I want for my office (lol I found the desk by searching plywood and was amazed at people that have polished plywood floors!!!! check them out). I searched her projects through and through and was really blown away by the 1) amount of projects she has 2) the lists that she creates for your Home Depot/Lowe's shopping trip 3) templates on how to cut out the plywood/lumber 4) the detailed and easy steps to completing the project. Thank you Ana for having such a great talent and sharing it with people like me! Here are some things from her website that looked like projects I want to attempt (you can download the projects in PDF form which is HUGE!!!!)
