Dinner and a Movie...and Some Ornaments

Our first ornaments as a Mom and Dad, and Logan's very first ornament.

Tuesday's and Thursdays are the nights that I guard and keep saved for family time. Friday's through Sunday's we usually spend with our friends or family members, but during the week those Tuesdays and Thursdays are tough for me to give up to anyone but Renae and Logan.

Tuesday nights surprise was a laid back dinner (so neither Renae or I had to prepare anything), a holiday movie, ohh and making ornaments for the tree. We have tons of Renae's childhood ornaments, a couple of mine from the past few years of teaching and Christmases and a small handful or ones we made our first year of marriage. So, this year it was time to make some more of our very own ornaments.

While Renae was feeding Logan some beef stew pieces I came down with a few "gifts" and a note card to explain what I had planned for the evening. The first gift was the Snowmen Ornaments with "Mom," "Dad," and "Logan" printed on them. The other gift was the materials for the ornaments we would be making.  Shortly afterwards, we began watching the movie Elf and enjoyed pizza (hawaiin style for me and green pepper/mushroom for her).  Even Logan had some pizza...just a few pieces of the crust ;)

Midway through the movie we paused to pray with Logan before he went to bed, and I took a short nap, and then we began making to ornaments. It was a good time for Renae and I. We finished Elf, and I endured most of a Lifetime television movie (that was way to cheesy and sappy to enjoy). What was great was that we just talked and got way caught up with one another. It's always a good thing fora husband and wife to be in communication with one another.  Below are pictures of the ornaments that we made:

I think that my favorite would be the icicle-esque ornaments. I wish that we had more materials to make about 8 more of them. I figured if we do something like this each year, then we will end up with more than enough ornaments.

P.S. this is what my cube at work now looks like:
