Breakfast for Dinner?

So I know that a little while ago we were with Renae's besties from college and we had breakfast for dinner, but it was such a great idea we decided that we wanted to do it again. Renae made the grocery list for the week and suggested it, and what kind of person would I be to deny that culinary experience?

That worked perfectly into my little "surprise" for Renae for this day. I was able to get a hold of a couple of couples from our small group and they were more than willing to come over for dinner and to hang out for a little while. We set the table in our newly updated dining room. Then we tidied up the house a little. Then it was time to start getting the food ready. We had quite a feast before us thanks to everyone chipping in a little.

The Menu:
Waffles
Waffle Toppings
(blueberries, strawberry glaze, syrup, powdered sugar and butter)
Chocolate Banana Bread
Bacon
Turkey Bacon
Sausage
Pineapple
Cantaloupe
Clementines
Orange Juice
Homemade Pumpkin Ice Cream

After dinner we migrated into the living room to give our furniture a little more use before we say good bye to it next week (that is a whole other awesome little story). We sat and talked for a little with some Christmas music, but without any objection we turned to Mario and Sonic at the Olympics for Wii. The next hour and a half was filled with relay races, archery contests, skeet shooting competitions, gymnastics, fencing and table tennis.

After all of that it was time to call it a night. We said good bye to our friends and began locking up the house. This is one of our favorite parts of the night. Not because we are glad to see the friends go, but because after they leave we always reflect at how blessed we are to have such great people in our lives. When we were living in a 600 sq ft apartment it killed us that we didn't have the room to entertain people. When I was swamped with my first years of teaching, I would almost never allow anything throughout the week (because I would freak out feeling too much pressure with stuff).

But now we have been blessed with a little house and great friends, and we absolutely love to share these times with them.
