Credit Card "Un"freeze

So here is how the freeze went...not sure what I am talking about, then you can check out my earlier blog post here Credit Card Freeze

This is how it went. There were a couple of times when I was out and I really wanted to binge on something. Like running in to a store to see if they had any sweats or work out gear...another time I really wanted to splurge on a burrito from Chipotle...yet again I wanted to get pizza...another time I was craving Dunkin Donuts...then another time I just wanted to splurge on some extra items that we really didn't need when we were out grocery shopping.

SIDE NOTE: I noticed a trend here with me. Usually the times that I wanted to spend money was when it came to food and coffee...huh? That's interesting, I wonder what your monetary thorn in the side might be?

SPENDING: Since I didn't have my cards the spending went down. The credit card bill I had after I froze the cards dropped down to around $60.00. This past credit card statement again was hovering around $60.00 That means that since I decided to freeze the cards and cut back on spending in two months I only spent 1/5 of what I normally did in one month...or more simply put I only spent 10% as much as I normally had in the past each month!!!! I challenge you on this...what would it look like if you were to cut your spending down by 90%? OK, that's a bit crazy...let's just say we cut it down to 60% (a little over half), what would that look like?

Anyways, we have some exciting projects coming up in the next month or so that will require the use of a credit card or two that is currently frozen in the freezer!!!! So after a month and a half of the cards being frozen it is time to thaw them out, dry them off, and place them back into the wallet. However, the lesson learned will go a long way. I just need to work on the discipline of having them on me, but not using them!

Haha, first I had to find them in the freezer...they were in there...just had to move some blueberries and chicken around.

Here they are...wow, it's been a while since I've seen these guys.

They are ready for their steam bath.

Yeah...I thought that maybe as the ice melted they might fall into the garbage disposal...so I went for the strainer.

Off to the races.

Almost there...I actually stopped to think twice about whether I wanted to do this or not.

Not much ice left...

Freedom!

Now they just need to dry off a little bit...

And now they are back home...it's up to me not to abuse them now!!!!
